I first heard about this Coffee Tasting experience through Chris—the guy who runs the show and happens to be my brother’s neighbor. Having done coffee and chocolate tastings before, I thought this would be a nice opportunity to try some new brews at best. But to my surprise, Chris offers much more than just a tasting. This experience is more like a masterclass in sensory analysis.
Chris’s passion for coffee is infectious. He lights up with enthusiasm as he guides you through the session, making the experience feel dynamic and engaging. His excitement is matched by his knack for making you notice the details you might otherwise miss. The session unfolds like a tasting journey, with interactive activities that sharpen your focus on specific elements—aroma, texture, density, harmony, balance, and more. I won’t spoil the details, but each activity adds a layer to your appreciation of what’s in your cup.
By the end of the session, you’ll feel more equipped to explore the subtleties of coffee flavor and texture. You’ll taste four different beans, each with its own story, before concluding with two of the top-ra nked coffees in the country. Along the way, Chris shares his vast knowledge—not just as a barista but also as a judge and a collaborator with coffee producers, helping them refine their craft. His insights give the entire experience depth and context, making the couple of hours you spend feel like an incredible bargain.
