My Quest Concierge (MQC) is a private tour company that originally made a name for itself in the Mayan Riviera, and has recently expanded its tours to Mexico City. With the top spot on Trip Advisor and glowing reviews backing their Mayan Riviera tours, we decided to try out their Chapultepec guided tour here in CDMX. This tour covers two main stops: the Anthropology Museum and the National History Museum (often referred to as Chapultepec Castle). Plus, it includes lunch and a refreshing drink to cap off the day.
With MQC, you can choose to be picked up or meet the tour guide at the museum. Since we were staying in Condesa, we opted to walk over to Chapultepec and met our guide, Garbiñe, at the museum entrance. The day before our tour, MQC sent us a message with all the information we needed—meeting spot, time, and Garbiñe’s contact info, just in case we needed to reach her directly.
Garbiñe was personable, enthusiastic, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her passion made the visit both engaging and fun, and she handled our endless questions with impressive detail. Even when someone in our group had a different perspective, she was gracious and open, making it easy to have lively conversations.
Our tour kicked off at the Anthropology Museum, where we requested to do a shortened version and focus on the more prominent cultures, skipping the upper floor. Starting with the Olmecs all the way through to the Mexicas took nearly three hours. One of the best things of MQC’s private tours is that it is totally customizable to suit your interests, pace, and schedule.
After the Anthropology museum we took a coffee break on our way to Chapultepec Castle. Garbiñe would have been delighted to talk for several more hours if we so desired, but she kept it flexible, giving us a solid yet manageable overview in just over an hour.
The day wrapped up with a late lunch at Cantina, followed by a drink with a view—and a sunset if visiting during the right season. The price seems very reasonable, ranging from $120 to $170 USD depending on the group size, as it includes the guide, museum entry fees, lunch, and a drink.
Besides the tour above they also have a walk through Mexico City’s historic center, a visit to Coyoacán and Xochimilco, as well as a visit to the ‘pyramids’ of Teotihuacán, with an optional flight on a hot air balloon. After doing the Chapultepec tour, we have added these other ones to our list for future visits to CDMX. Highly recommended!
